Make Everything ft. LOOPY! 鹿皮 & Apadalia

Award winning artist-activist Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra returns with a new single. 'Make Everything’ celebrates creating things for the love of it; a counterpoint to our modern cultural hunger for instant fame and ‘buzz-iness’.

Featuring Taiwanese cult-favourite wearable art duo LOOPY! 鹿皮 and lo-fi bedroom-pop maker Apadalia, the track is an ethereal voyage through the creative process, and could be described as dreamy lo-fi, if not for the intricate layering of over 20 live instruments used to create it. With diversity a running theme through Matt’s work, this single is a unique cross-cultural collaboration and a subtle exploration of Matt’s Taiwanese roots, featuring lyrics in Hokkien (a Taiwanese dialect) by LOOPY! 鹿皮, who also illustrated the single art.

The DIY music video wears its ‘make everything’ ethos on its sleeve, showcasing each collaborator’s creative processes — filmed by themselves with creative direction from Matt. It also features silhouette animation by frequent collaborator Ashleigh Djokic.

Available for streaming on 12 September, and as a bonus track on The Shirt Album — an album released on organic fair-trade shirt.
