十二月令（DEMO）

〈十二月令〉是一首以「上元節」為主題書寫的民謠。我們試著用一整年的時間來歌唱這個節日——十二個月、十二段故事，讓文學與節慶在歌聲中重新相遇。

歌曲的結構很簡單：單月寫小說，雙月寫詩詞。這些來自不同時代的作品，都曾在文字裡留下上元節的身影。

在小說的世界裡，上元節充滿戲劇性：從傳說中的老鼠娶親開始，《西遊記》中唐僧師徒在元宵節遭遇犀牛怪；歌仔戲《陳三五娘》裡，陳三與五娘在燈會一見鍾情；《水滸傳》寫梁山好漢入汴京看燈，《金瓶梅》描繪繁華都市的燈節景象，而《紅樓夢》三次書寫元宵，大觀園在燈火中成為青春與盛世的舞台。

在詩詞的世界裡，上元節則更為細膩。辛棄疾寫下「驀然回首，那人卻在燈火闌珊處」；蘇東坡月下把酒；李商隱感嘆盛世不再。到了近代，丘逢甲與賴和也在不同的元宵夜裡，寫下思鄉與時代的感懷。甚至在台灣鳳山，也有竹枝詞記錄地方的燈節風俗。

這些跨越千年的小說與詩，讓元宵節有了不同面貌：有人相逢、有人狂歡、有人飲酒、有人思念。燈火之下，總有不同的人生故事。

歌曲最後回到歐陽修的詩句：「不見去年人，淚濕春衫袖。」燈火依舊，人事卻悄然改變。也因此，我們更願意在每一年上元，再次點燈、再次相聚，在笑與淚之間，珍惜那一年一年亮起的光。

The Twelve Months is a folk song inspired by the Lantern Festival, a celebration observed across the Chinese-speaking world for more than a thousand years. The song follows the festival through the course of a year—twelve months, twelve moments—bringing literature and celebration together in music.

Its structure is simple: odd-numbered months draw from stories and novels, while even-numbered months echo poetry. Many writers across history have set scenes during the Lantern Festival, when cities filled with lanterns, crowds, and celebrations that lasted through the night.

In fiction, the festival becomes a lively stage for human stories. Classical works such as Journey to the West, Water Margin, The Plum in the Golden Vase, and Dream of the Red Chamber all include memorable Lantern Festival scenes—moments of romance, adventure, spectacle, and fate unfolding beneath the lantern lights.

In poetry, the mood is often more reflective. For generations of poets, the Lantern Festival has been a night of moonlight, wine, and memory—a moment to celebrate beauty, but also to reflect on love, longing, and the passing of time.

The Twelve Months gathers these echoes from literature to remind us that a single festival can travel across centuries, continually inspiring new stories. The lanterns may look the same each year, but the people around us change. And perhaps that is why we return, year after year, to light them again.
