She waits patiently
for the morning to arrive
waiting by the stairs
champagne tangled in her hair
an arm wrapped around her neck
then she gets off work
and she's looking for a cab
she's got her taxi fare but no one stops to see her there
waiting for the opportunity
when she gets back home
no one seems to even care
but she's used to this all the grins and blank eyed stares
she knows that her day will come
so she pretties up
wearing more than just a smile
grabs the telephone calls the next number in style
she knows she's not alone
