This song was written for a friend of mine who went through depression after a bad break up with her boyfriend. A few of us were sitting at her house, trying to hear her out, and she was breaking down, sharing that he said very mean things to her like "you're psycho, you sucked out my whole life". We advised her to ignore his words - but she couldn't put it down. She the你admitted to us that she is extremely insecure and so so ugly on the inside, that she puts all her emotional need on her boyfriend. We didn't know what to say - and were silent for a while. Then I spoke up, and shared, "you need to know that God loves you". Silence again, because we grew up together in a mission school in Singapore, and after 10 years of being exposed to the Gospel, she never believed. Everyone knew that you don't talk to this friend about God! Then she looked me in the eye, and said calmly, "Sarah, I don't think religion is the solution to my problems right now." That was many years back, but this incident
has never really left me. I wrote this song for her - because she needs love, and God is love.
