And I Sing This Song

因為參賽作品有時間限制，但這首歌原長度4分多鐘，於是從第一段副歌處開始，後面從第三段主歌（When there'd been all those lies...）處接下去.....
這首歌獻給幾位曾給我啟發的、英年早逝的藝術家（因為他們是美國人，所以這首歌用英文創作）。儘管他們在如此年輕的時候就死去，他們創作藝術的精神卻從未衰微，而我認為「精神」是極為值得紀念的。然而，死亡還是令人畏懼，也令人嗟嘆，這就是為什麼我寫了這首歌。如果這些藝術家不在那麼年輕時逝去，或許他們將創作出更偉大的作品......不過，即便現實不是如此，我還是十分敬佩他們，也感謝他們的作品帶給人們的啟發和熱情。
至於創作緣起則是，有天晚上我在散步時，有段旋律冒出我的腦海（前奏的旋律），雖然是非常簡單的和弦進行，但我卻覺得十分好聽。從這幾個和弦，我衍生出了主歌和副歌的旋律。而歌詞方面，由於我早就有想法要創作這個主題的歌曲，於是就在這個主題下填詞。
