The steampunk locomotive burst from the tunnel like a blazing comet, steam billowing into the open sky. Lazuli clung to its frame, his pulse racing, his breath sharp with exhilaration. Ahead, a radiant road stretched infinitely, paved with golden light, shimmering with possibility.

The wind carried something—soft at first, then rising, weaving through the air like silver threads. It was the elves’ song, ancient and aching, the voice of spirits long forgotten. It wrapped around him, through him, a warmth deeper than touch.

And then, he was no longer just himself.

The song and the rhythm of the train fused into his veins, his guitar humming with newfound power. His body pulsed with their voices, their whispers, their longing. He was Lazuli, but he was also them—a chorus of souls, an echo of eternity.

With a wild grin, he strummed once more, and the road ahead answered.
