NANCY NIGHTMARE

《NANCY NIGHTMARE》是 DAVID BORING 時隔多年即將發布的新專輯《LIMINAL BEINGS AND THEIR ECHOES》的首支單曲。這首創作於疫情高峰期、曾於2020年萬聖節以 demo 形式發布的曲目，預示著樂隊從以吉他主導的後龐克風格，向融合 techno、EBM（electronic body music）等風格的電子噪音聲響進行蛻變。歌曲採用第一人稱視角，敘述主角被活埋後陷入幽閉恐懼的內心越軌歷程。透過描繪肉體驚悚（body-horror）意象與神智掙扎的軌跡，在逐漸崩壞的精神面貌中勾勒出從恐懼到超脫的轉變。

這首單曲隊音樂錄影帶交由香港獨立B級片製作團體「Bio-Toilet Releasing」操刀製作。全片以二手舊式數碼攝影機拍攝，借鑒剝削電影（exploitation）與刑屋電影（grindhouse）的美學風格，並注入道德虛無主義色彩 —— 令人聯想到《八仙飯店之人肉叉燒包》（1993）與《黑太陽南京大屠殺》（1995）等低成本香港獵奇片。樂隊全體成員在片中化身角色，隨著無名主角遭受的暴行持續升級，逐步展開既粗鄙駭人又充滿黑色幽默的故事。這部影片折射出樂隊對DIY精神、類型片與粗糙寫實主義的長久迷戀，以及將其作為探索恐懼與感官脫敏之間二元張力的手段。
