另類流行歌手Gwyn今日發布全新單曲 Girl in the Mirror (鏡中女孩)，這首充滿電影感的流行樂標誌著她音樂風格的大膽突破。這首深受古風華語流行樂啟發的作品，是2022年Gwyn在香港酒店隔離期間，懷著沉重心情等待參加外婆葬禮是寫下的。

「那時候我帶著一顆破碎的心回到香港，卻被迫在酒店獨自面對悲傷。」Gwyn回憶道：「那個房間像個矛盾的空間，既是困住我的牢籠，卻也意外成為創作的避風港。每當我看著鏡子，就能看見自己的不同面貌——時而是沒能好好盡孝的孫女，時而是追逐夢想的音樂人...這些複雜的情緒最後都化成了這首歌。」

Sydney's rising alt-pop artist Gwyn releases "Girl in the Mirror", a cinematic pop masterpiece that marks a bold new direction in her sound. The track, heavily inspired by contemporary C-pop aesthetics, was written during an emotionally charged period in 2022 when Gwyn found herself isolated in a Hong Kong hotel room, awaiting permission to attend her grandmother's funeral.
The song serves as a spiritual successor to her previous single "Lost Angels", but with a striking evolution - Gwyn's newfound passion for Chinese classical music shines through via prominent dizi (bamboo flute) and guzheng (a zither-like string instrument) instrumentation, seamlessly blended with modern pop production.
"I flew home to Hong Kong with a broken heart, only to be trapped in quarantine with my grief," Gwyn reveals. "That hotel room became both my prison and my creative sanctuary."Staring at my reflection, I saw every version of myself - the dutiful granddaughter, the ambitious artist, the cultural hybrid, and all my guilt and unanswered questions poured into this song.
The track showcases Gwyn's artistic growth, combining her signature ethereal vocal harmonies with lush, cinematic arrangements. The production features classical piano, orchestral strings, electronic textures, and traditional Chinese instruments, creating a unique East-meets-West soundscape that perfectly underscores the song's themes of cultural identity and personal reckoning.
