《Pride Will Keep Us Apart, Always》是一首帶著 post-punk、gothic rock 與 neo-classical 氣質的曲子。 我想寫的不是激烈分手，也不是誰傷害了誰。這首歌比較像一個房間：床單整理好了，咖啡已經冷了，行李箱攤在地上，裡面有些東西還沒收好。兩個人都知道有些話該說，但也都太習慣維持體面，所以最後什麼都沒有真正發生。 我很喜歡那種「快要崩塌，卻仍然站得很漂亮」的感覺。弦樂慢慢堆起來，像一座華麗但空心的建築；貝斯和鼓機則一直保持冷靜，好像提醒自己不要失控。 這首歌不是在說愛消失了，而是在說，有時候讓人分開的不是恨，也不是謊言，而是驕傲。兩個人都還在原地，沒有誰知道該如何認錯，你我都沒學過。
