opposite

opposite 的意思是相反的，這是一張撿拾起2021到2026之間不同時間段的創作，重新整理它們，嘗試保留初始的聲音與勇氣，並持續延展進化的一張專輯。

「相反」的想法來自兩張大學做的單刷版畫，這種版畫可以做出兩張圖像相同但色彩反轉的畫。當我找出這些版畫時，也想起了當時的處境：它們被認為是習作而不是作品。用現在的眼光看，我發現單刷版畫跟那時上傳在SoundCloud上的音樂處在同樣的位置，就是它們都是非常原始的渴望，它們一定可以被視為是某種習作，但是我把它們發送出去給這個世界，並沒有特別去想，只是在自己心中很確定的覺得這是我的作品。這幾年恍恍惚惚，發現這樣的想法也會被別人接收到！

隨著我一直成長，現在的自己總是與過去舊時空的自己對望，這好像是做這整張專輯的過程，就像那兩張色彩反轉的圖，是一邊的人站在湖邊看另一邊自己的倒影。隨著時間推移，我的歌詞的心境也從一種想法跑到另一端，「This Land」在講我想留下，到「Maybe it’s time to go…」，我想人永遠都是矛盾的，而我一直以來都在兩端之間尋找平衡點，為了將自己放在一個能喘口氣的、舒服的、真正自由的空間。每個階段的生命都不同，而opposite就像是用上這五年的時間完成的，我感覺這張專輯告訴我，讓一件事物成為作品，不只在他完成之前，完成之後的時間好像也有意義。

”opposite” is an album that curates my creation during 2021 and 2026. I tried to preserve its initial sounds and spirit
while continuing expand and evolve.

The concept of “opposite” is from two pieces of monotype prints I made in the uni, they have the same image but inverted colors, when I put these two prints upside down, they formed opposing images and looked like a mirror on a surface of a lake. I realise the prints are in the same position with the music I uploaded on SoundCloud, an intuitive desire. They might be seen as studies, but I notice that these are my works. It turned out people could really feel it.

I look back to the young me a couple of times, especially during the time we making this album. It has been so long that my thoughts have changed from one side to the other, moving from talking about staying in the song ‘This Land’ towards “Maybe it’s time to go...”. I was conflicted while I constantly looked for a comfort space in between, a space of inner freedom.

Making this album “opposite” is like telling myself, not only would the meaningfulness be in the making, but it also continues to grow after the works are finished.
