2015年由澳門移居倫敦的SCORPIO-L，於2016年推出了EP《Phantasmagoria》後，已有兩年沒有發佈新的音樂作品。

新單曲《This Matrix Standard》，SCORPIO-L繼續通過音樂去表達他對一些社會現象的看法，而這一次要談論的是「網絡」。面對無孔不入的網絡世界，他認為人們已經中毒太深，無論這個世界是否真如電影所說，是一個被輸入了指令的「Matrix」，網絡所帶來的社會現象都足以讓我們好好去反思。因此，從社交平臺上的討「讚」行為，抑或由「已讀不回」所引發的FOMO焦慮症，甚至神秘陰險的「暗網」世界，都成為SCORPIO-L創作這首新歌的靈感。
