Japanese Man (日本男)

I was in Manila 3 years ago with my high school friends and I played a show at a small jazz bar in the middle of the city. There was a handsome Japanese man at the back of the room whom I later went to say hello to. As I approached, he grabbed my hand and said 'right now you are the most beautiful man in the room.'

Where I just played a show to my friends.

11pm, he cracks a joke

Playing chess,
And I hadn’t played since I was 10.
He didn’t make his move,
