Call You Mine is an original composition I wrote for my graduate album during the fall 2014 semester. This piece is influenced by Oscar Peterson’s album, Blues Etude, specifically the songs Bossa Beguine and The Shadow of Your Smile. The intro is a bass solo, followed by the piano entry into the body of the tune. The form of the tune is A A’ B A. The flute plays the first A, followed by the alto saxophone on the second A’. The piano plays the B section, with the flute and alto sax playing together on the final A section.
