They worked us hard, they made us slaves,
But deep in our hearts a fire blazed,
The rivers turned red, the sky turned dark,
A voice in the storm, it left its mark.

Out of the chains, we're breaking free,
Into the desert, towards the sea,
With fire above and dust below,
We'll walk by faith, no fear to show.

The waters parted, the path was clear,
Leaving behind our darkest fear,
The Pharaoh's grip couldn't hold us down,
In freedom's song, we won't drown,
Though pain had passed with cries of woe,
But we held on, our faith did grow,
A pillar of fire, a pillar of cloud,
Guided by one, strong and proud.
