A brilliant musician with great achievements in performing the yangqin, Chin Ping Lin has
given recitals and performances in Taiwan as well as in China, United-States, Brazil, Spain,
Poland, France, and elsewhere.
At the age of 16 she was the youngest invited solist to perform during the first Yangqin
World Congress in Beijing. She also won first prize in the National Yangqin Competition in
Taiwan in 1996.
Chinese music
She created the Mei Li De Dao trio for Chinese traditional music in 2006 and performed in
France at Musée Guimet, Festival Les Orientales, Museum of Cité de la Musique, Radio
France and for the Hakka TV in Taiwan.
During the last 15 years she participated with numerous Chinese music chamber ensembles
and performed in international traditional music festivals like in Poland with Tainan Cultural
Center Ensemble, in United States with dance company Mei Chiang, in Spain with Ji Long
Cultural Center Ensemble.
She collaborated with the National Chinese Orchestra and Taipei National Chinese Orchestra
in Taiwan. She is currently teaching at the National University of Arts and Chinese Culture
University in Taiwan.
Contemporary music
In September 2007 she was invited to perform in France at the Royaumont composition session
“Voix Nouvelles” for international composers’ creations, linking western classical instruments
and yangqin . In 2005 she recorded the CD « Feux Noirs » , music written by the french
composer Jérôme Combier.
In the field of contemporary music, being graduated also in percussions, Chin Ping Lin
participated to creations with percussions instruments like in the theatrical creation K. Lear
directed by Marie Montegani, music written by Jérôme Combier, performances in Paris at
International Visual Theater IVT, Festival “Orphée” in Versailles, Théâtre d’Argenteuil, …
