The second album of the Drinking Boys and Girls Choir, "Marriage License," tells the story of an office worker in their 30s and the punk rocker women. What a harsh society it is for women and queers represented by the system of marriage, and others who have deviated from normality. It should be something that anyone can do easily, but some people tried to talk directly and indirectly about why they should prove themselves to be discriminated against for granted.
We are angry and anxious about the world that does not change easily, but we believe that it will definitely be a good world we want and sing brightly to live together with hope.
During the Dutch/British tour in February 2020, Covid-19 was launched in Daegu. Thought it would soon calm down, the virus' momentum spread around the world, and most of the performances in 2020 were canceled. For the first album, we decided to make a second album now that everything has stopped, just as all the schedules have been canceled since MJ’s accident and the album work was underway during the hiatus. Unlike the production of the first album, most of the songs had to be written according to the theme, which was a new experience. I was inspired by 'Do you want to marry me?’ and ‘The right not to be lonely.' I was faithful to the life partnership law, same-sex marriage, sex crimes that angered us very much, and to the weak punishment for them, and to the feelings we felt in our lives in the present. With the happiness and stability of life that I felt in my 30s, I could start talking about things that people are forced or forced to ignore, and things that cannot be done and discriminated against because of law, institutions and social awareness.
