每個人在愛情裡都有不同的樣貌，有的人是小鳥依人，有的人是若即若離，又或者無法專一一段感情。而這首歌描述的是，一個人在某段感情裡，常常感到不安，不斷地用各種方法來測試對方愛不愛他，如果對方沒有馬上接到電話或是回覆訊息，就會感到很焦慮！或是隨時隨地都要對方滿足自己的要求，來證明是真愛，這些種種緊迫盯人的相處，令對方感到很不舒服，很想逃離這種關係，越是追逐，兩人的關係越是疏離！雖然知道這樣不好，可是卻又無法阻止自己的焦慮！
