Little Lion (Song for Jake)

Once there was a little shihtzu
And we named him Jake
The first night Daddy took him home
He whimpered through the night

Thinking woof ~, where am I~
This new place just doesn’t smell familiar
Woof ~, who is this
This hand keeps on petting, I feel better

When Jake grew up
He began to feel so curious
He would look out of the window
At the passerbys

Saying woof, hello you!
I am Jake but I don’t know who you are
Hey, wanna play
You can throw the ball and I’ll go fetch it

Jakey has a close girl friend and
Pepper is her name
When they first met
There were no sparks, just sniffing here and there

Over time, feelings grew
And they’d play together, wrestling on the floor
When she’s tired,
Jake would let her snuggle in his bed

Some days when Jake’s home alone
He’d have a visitor
Daddy found him a doggie walker
Who’d come to take him out

Out to pee, out to breathe
Out to mark his doggie territories
See, walking peeps
Looking for someone who’d smile and pet him

Jakey you’re a darling shihtzu
We love you like a son
We can rarely say no to your
Irresistible eyes

Oh Jake, little lion
You’re so cute and fluffy
Such a happy boy

We come home you’d greet us with your wagging tail
