Recorded early on in an extra room of a friend's house, Onto the Road, Into the Tunnel was Hank L.'s first compilation of songs he had written over numerous travels. With Coney L. entering the project providing main and backing vocals, Red Oak was born. The group entered Duprey Studios in Orange County to record Red Oak's first EP over the summer of 2013. The EP is titled Lacy's Circus, based off of a short story Hank L. wrote while in studio. In addition to vocal duties, Coney L. also creates all artwork for the group.
With their early songs all being in English, the duo began to hail back to their roots in the Taiwan indie music scene as they prepared for their first full length album. Red Oak began work on their album to be named (Nocturnal / 夜行動物) in early September 2013. The album is scheduled to be released August of 2014 with an accompanying children storybook created and written by the duo.
