什麼東西會讓你感覺回到家了？

對我來說
是紅磚瓦屋頂的車站
是青綠色的大郵局
是熱鬧的傳統市場
是齊聚信眾的天主堂

小鎮總是
不疾不徐的擁有自己的步伐
慢慢的車 慢慢的人

使得每個到來的旅客都得放慢腳步
感受小鎮的呼吸

因為這樣
我總喜歡觀察路上的人事物

在無數次的動身前往與抵達之間
我好像總會想起
假日和爸爸一起散步的早晨
公園歡笑的弟弟妹妹
和陽光下愜意打著搥球的爺爺奶奶

我總在想家到底是什麼樣的？

幾次回到許久沒有見面的竹東
記憶中的店家
換了個門面 蓋了更多樓房
有時候會感嘆家稍微變了樣
但這些改變
也隱含著每一個住民對竹東未來的期許

竹東是我從小長大的地方
我的童年 我的青春 都在這裡
那份熟悉的自在與舒適
總能讓人感受到滿滿的能量
或許家鄉就是有這種迷人的魅力吧

未來可能會去更遠的地方
因此在屆滿18歲之際
我想好好的跟他道別
告訴他我會好好的
我也會再回來的

What makes you feel like you’re home?

for me,
It’s a station with a red brick roof.
It's a big green post office.
It’s a lively traditional market.
It’s a Catholic church where believers gather together.

The small town always has its own pace.
Cars go slowly, people go slowly.

Every arriving tourist has to slow down and feel the breath of the town.

because of this,
I always like to observe people and things on the road.

Between countless departures and arrivals,
I always seem to remember.
Morning walk with dad on holiday.
Younger brother and sister laughing in the park.
and grandparents playing ball happily in the sunshine.

I always wonder what ‘home’ means?

Several times I returned to Chudong,
Stores in memory,
underwent renovations and constructed additional buildings.
Sometimes, I lament that my home has changed slightly.
But these changes
also imply every resident’s expectations for Chudong’s future.

Chudong is the place where I grew up
My childhood and my youth are all here.
The familiar ease and comfort
always make people feel energized.
Maybe 'hometown' just has this charming appeal.

In the future, I may go further afield.
Therefore, when reaching the age of 18,
I want to say goodbye to them properly.
Tell them I'll be fine.
and I will come back.
