發條鳥的羽毛變得很稀疏，可能是年老的緣故。
他飛到一棵漂亮的樹枝上唱歌，
分別練習用沙啞的歌聲和溫柔的歌聲，
但是並沒有人在聽，應該是因為老了。
突然，發條鳥掉落到地面，用多少力氣都飛不起來。
在鳥的葬禮上，美麗的鳥唱著哀悼的詩歌。
還是沒有人要看發條鳥。
「以後大概會變成這樣的吧。」
在樹上練習唱歌的發條鳥這麼想著。
