2008年最後一天的下午、就讀大學的我與女友到紐約市跨年，受冰冷寒風驅趕，我們依偎著對方，躲進了Soho區的精品皮鞋店。店員沒有多理會我們，我們舉頭所見是一排排充滿設計感的手工皮鞋，感覺好比第一次走進當代美術館般震撼。紫紅交雜的黑亮牛皮，完美的裁縫，叛逆的造型，它們雕塑出紐約社會階段的現實。我們心動卻也心碎，一雙七百到一千多美金不等的價格，遠遠超出了大學生的負擔能力。

雖然沒有存款，但我們擁有未來。當下我們許下承諾，在畢業後賺得第一份薪水時，我們會回到這間精品店，買下奢侈的皮鞋，踩在紐約市的大道上。

大學畢業前，我們分了手。畢業我去了西岸，她留在東岸。2016年的聖誕節前夕，我回到位於紐約市的公司總部開會，在人來人往的十字路口再次與她相見。我穿著新買的皮鞋，問她還記不記得2008年的那間店，她說她永遠都不會忘記。

她在不久後和別人訂了婚。我和這雙皮鞋從紐約踏過洛杉磯、台北、雷克雅未克、巴黎、倫敦、牛津、都柏林、都靈、羅馬、米蘭、阿姆斯特丹、上海、北京、重慶、曼谷、香港、澳門、聖彼得堡、柏林的街道，直到這雙鞋在東京損壞到無法修復。

The last day of 2008,

Me and my girlfriend still doing college degree

We went to New York and go to Soho for celebrate, there have a boutique shoes shop, selling leather boots.
We were broke at that time, we swear we”ll come back here when we make fortune.

Seems like a classic cliche but this is the story I want to tell.

So what is that shoes represent, I haven’t figured out yet.

You said you will never forget, but what we have left?

I move to a bigger flat, my zeal have no reflect.

I receive my first check, but there are something I can’t payback.

Do you hear the wind-up sound on the beat?

What gives you power wake up every day like a beast?

Dream, love, family, material?

Dream, love, family, material?

I hope everyday wake my eyes up with meanings, not end up chasing.

Or one day my winder stop running, all the struggle means nothing.

All this roads , I've been through

All this path, what does it told

Maybe it’s just an endless track, maybe I end up collecting wreck.

Maybe I going to a trap, Maybe it's what It meant.

Building bridges and there’s are glitches

Try to be a slick and place lesser bricks.

Is That’s why I never get that golden snitches?
